T Nation

Television is Dead!

Television as we know it is dead… Nobody watches T.V anymore… everybody does there video watching online now… This whole year i have only watched t.v like 10 hours(all sporting events)I am sure im not alone there. This trend will continue.

TV will serve it’s purpose as an archaic mode of entertainment and socialization, but it is not longer the dominant household source as newer, more efficient alternatives penetrate the lives of consumers

I watch tv regularly.

The only things I watch on my computer are the things I can’t watch on tv. Like Spartacus: Blood and Sand

I can stream internet content to my tv, which I do from time to time, mostly for out of market sporting events. But frankly I don’t have much time to watch much of anything during the week if I want to work out. I DVR the shows I miss that I like.

I wouldn’t even watch tv if it wasn’t for DVR

Sports
Worlds Wildest Police Chases
The Office
Food Network
My Life as Liz

TV will never die.
The Internet is for porn.

i’ve barely watched one thing on tv in an entire year…

I recently discovered my cable box has a DVR and I don’t fully understand why but for some reason I’m against using it. I guess I like that I watch very little TV and I know if I begin recording the 1 or 2 shows I actually do like then I will end up finding the time to sit down and watch them. Whereas now if I miss the show oh well… Guess I’ll have to try and catch it next week. Am I alone here?

Besides video games best invention in my life time. Especially for football games lets me FF through commercials.

TV is not and will not die. Systems are just merging. Computers aren’t taking over TV, they’re integrating it. In the coming years TV, computer, phone, stereo, internet, est. will all be one system.

TV is definitely not dead. I think what you mean is the concept of channels offering a constant stream of information that follows a time schedule. The shift will probably towards “on-demand” type programming where you can watch tv shows, movies, news, etc, when you want.

i agree!

I watch tv constantly… I have my regular shows… archer, daily show, colbert, southpark… then random documentaries and other shows i watch semi regularly. I don’t see how the internet would take over tv… like i can watch shows on the internet and I do sometimes but its more of a hassle imo… i prefer the tv.

and I’m 21 not some old geezer

^wow recycling pics already used not even a week ago?? The google force is not very strong with you my son.

I dont watch as much tv as I used to because i dont watch many reruns but I still watch tv regularly and dont really like watching tv or movies on the computer because I dont feel comfortable.
