Burpees
@T3hPwnisher LOL these are really tiring. Thanks for the conditioning idea. I am trying to redeem myself.
I skipped 2 cardio days the past 2 weeks. I have no excuse for that. Couldāve done those. But, at least I wasnāt entirely inactive during those weeks. Since I was being kindāve a substitute construction inspector It required me to walk around a lot. That was everyday for the work week. Thatās not an excuse tho still missed those cardio days.
Iām about to join you running deepwater in a couple weeks man. I used work as my conditioning the first time through, but am planning on actually doing the 5th day this time through. I should be starting beginners as you are starting intermediate!
How are you finding the 10x10s? Manageable with the rest times cut? How is the soreness and recovery/eating?
The 10 x 10s have honestly gotten better. The first two weeks were pretty rough. Even though I had more rest time. Iāve been consistent with eating. 5 meals a day. I use the guide in the e-book. Itās pretty annoying because as soon as I get home from the gym I gotta eat 2 meals and then after that I gotta get ready for work tomorrow. By that time itās like 8 or 9 and I go to bed at 10. Iām always sore tbh. It really sucks after the 10 x 10 squats or deadlifts. I canāt remember a time I wasnāt sore lol.
Sit-Ups/Back Extensions - 20 each, 3 sets, no rest
As you can see, the weight for my deads and squats are 10 lbs more than usual. I honestly thought the squat bar was 45 lbs (20 kg) and it was just thicker. Welp I kinda just caught the side of the bar and it said 25 kg while I was warming up for squats. The deadlift platform was diagonal from the squat platform. I see that itās the same bar. I honestly just said screw it and went along with 235 cause I didnāt feel like switching bars.
Anyway the last 2 sets were jelly leg hell but I got it done.
Welp I was cooking my 3 hamburgers to eat for the deep water meal. My mom complained over my eating habits and even told me to lift up my shirt. She said she doesnāt want me getting fat. I told her I needed to eat this way because Iām on a hard lifting program. I also said I donāt even want to eat this much when I get home from work (my internship), itās just a necessary. I asked her to trust me with my eating habits and that I donāt even want to be fat. I said I was going to continue to eat my burgers. Obviously I didnāt say this like a bratty child. I said this like an adult.
Ngl sometimes my dad sometimes says the same thing. Iām not even fat though. Freshman year of college, my older brother came home weighing 270 lbs because he was eating a ton while lifting. I think theyāre afraid of me doing that. I hate these comments though. Iām not even fat. I can post pics too. Iām like muscular and skinny fat so like skinny fuscularā¦ lmao.
I needed to vent because honestly this isnāt the first time I heard this. The last time I heard this, I was eating way less and definitely not enough. I think my minuscule eating led to me failing āgod is a beastā. Iāll ignore the comments but they hurt sometimes yk. They rarely exercise too.
Sometimes it is very hard for people who arenāt involved or interested in lifting weights and getting stronger to understand what we do and why we do it. Try not to get frustrated with them and just politely explain what you are doing and keep doing it. Their comments most likely come from a good place in that they think they are looking out for you but unfortunately its an uneducated view point. Keep being mature and talk a little about what you are doing without trying to preach and they will come around. I am nearly 47 and have been doing this on and off since I was 16, my mum is 80 and she still comments after seeing videos on facebook or when we facetime about me doing too much or being careful and not hurting myself or not getting too heavy. I just smile and assure her that I am being sensible.
