How effective are taurine and l-carnitine with regard to fat loss, and if one or both are effective, then: 1) what are the recommended daily dosages for each?, 2) should one or both be taken on an empty stomach, with food, or does it matter?, and 3) can one or both be taken together, or with protein or amino acids such as glutamine and arginine without interference? Thanks.
They’re not particularly effective, unless you specifically have a medical deficit in, say, l-carnitine. I’ve heard it said that l-carnitine is one of those chemicals that “sounds great on paper, doesn’t do anything in real life human bodies”–as a supplement that is. It’s essential to life, but supplementation with it doesn’t produce significant results, except that it tastes nasty. I’ll let others comment on taurine.
