Tattoos Stretching

19 years old and lookin’ to get tatted soon. I’ve been thinkin’ more about placement than for what I want. I really want my work done on my upper arm (basic idiot first tattoo) but I’m worried about it stretching and warping.

My biceps are 17" flexed, and as a rough guideline to how big my arms may get my dad is about 22" and he was a semi-pro bodybuilder. I have some stretch marks from my arms growing but they’re mostly on the inside of the bicep with very few on the top (barely noticeable). My arms were like 13" or something when I started 3 years ago.

I’m really lookin’ for help and insite on this ‘cause this is something bothering me a lot and it’s gonna seriously affect my decision. The design is gonna cover my entire upper arm and not extend around the sides very much, if at all. Lots of big ass dudes on here and if you’re tatted or know about all what I’m talkin’ about please help me out.
Peace

The designs gonna be similar to that on the top. Same basic idea but a lot of changes

the picture u posted was an upper back piece, and u want advice for an upper arm tattoo… I dunno if you want to superimpose the tribal work on your upper arm?

regardless, don’t sweat it. you won’t be able to go heavy on you bis/tris for about week (unless you want the tattoo proportions disfigured) if its the upper arm, and wait until it heals in… otherwise, stretching and ‘warping’ shouldn’t be a problem, since the ink is in the skin.

The ink in tattoos migrates under the skin, that’s why very small tattoos with a lot of detail look like blobs when you are old. Unless your arms are growing at some un godly rate, then you’ll be fine, the skin and tissue cells that have ink them multiply with ink in them.

You’ll be fine.

Worst case scenario: Get it touched up in 5 years. Most tattoo artists will touch up for free. (at least the ones I go to).

Tats don’t stretch anymore on top of muscle growth than they do with basic aging.

Thanks for the help guys, this is clearin’ a lot of shit up for me. And about that it’s not the same tattoo, but a similar kind of design you know. I understand that’s a back tattoo and I’m not gettin’ it superimposed. I was just tryin’ to give a real rough idea on the basic design style that’s gonna be covering the upper arm and how all of you felt it would hold up with time and growth and everything.

Thanks for all this help though. More information here than on the entire of the web for real.
