Tapering Carbs Going into a Cut?

I am not contest dieting but i want to drop some lbs. Whats your opinion on tapering off carbs going into a cut? Benefits , drawbacks?
For example i am at 400 carbs a day, and making 50g reductions every 2 weeks until i hit 200.

Tapering carbs or slowly removing carbs is a pretty standard approach to a cut. Instead of pre planning how long between each drop you may want to keep an eye on weight loss and either stay on a certain level longer or shorter based on your weight loss. Though obviously don’t freak out on day two and drop all the carbs at once.
