Like any typical six or so year old, I was fascinated with those kiddie toy vending machines at the grocery store and the ones dispensing mini NFL helmets – you can still find these at Walmarts and such – in particular.

I remember those. I used to peak down into it to try to figure out which helmet would come out next. After many wasted quarters (I’m pretty sure I threw away at least three Raiders helmets), I finally got a Chiefs one.

Remember how the logos always came on a sticker sheet? I didn’t yet trust myself to put the stickers onto the helmet straight, especially after many unfortunate experiences with Legos and Hotwheels, so I asked my older sister to put them on for me.

Last time I would trust a woman to do a man’s job. She put the Arrowheads on backwards…

No one is an adult until they hit 25 anyway Max, feel free. Hint; I especially love your stories that include your dad. He’s fracking great.
