Tabata & HIIT

Guys, I did Tabata squats yeterday and then I ran a little HIIT after that. It feels like I have deep muscle bruising and my legs are sore as heck. What causes this? Is there a chemical buildup of something or do my quads just gas out and get damaged? Thanks for the Help!

I suppose my first question would be

‘how did you do anything more challenging than breathing after doing a tabata circuit’

But I guess what would be more informative is… I mean, is it just severe doms? like, doms to the point where it’s no longer doms, but DOMS?

I mean, is something broken?
