-gotta second the vote for Demanufacture

Motorhead - Inferno
Mudvayne - Lost and Found
Killswitch Engage - End of Heartache

I know I'm not what would be considered a really hardcore metalhead, but I must say that my old fallback for working out when I haven't listened to it in a long time is Metallica's black album. The whole fucking thing just POUNDS, all the way through.

  1. Meshuggah - Nothing (love the growl)
  2. Meshuggah - I
  3. Death - Symbolic
  4. Melechesh - Sphynx
  5. Nightrage - both

Thats it for now

For me, and this is judged on the criteria of stuff that gets me amped in the gym:

Metallica - Kill 'Em All
Slayer - Diabolus in Musica, among others
Raise Hell - Wicked is My Game
Black Label Society - Sonic Brew, Stronger Than Death, and 1919 Eternal
AC/DC - Back in Black
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power

and, underappreciated classic and top of my list:

Down - Nola

Metallica - Master of Puppets, Kill 'em All

Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

Pantera - Vulgar Diplay of Power

Soundgarden - Louder Than Love

Metallica - Ride the Lightning & Puppets
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
Killswitch Engage - End of Heartache
Trivium - Acendancy

All albums by:

Old Metallica, Kill'em All to Master

Early Anthrax up to White Noise

Today, my favorite metal albums are:
1. At the Gates-Terminal Spirit Disease
2. Emperor-Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
3. Black Sabbath-Black Sabbath
4. Black Sabbath-Vol. 4
5. Sleep-Dopesmoker
6. Suffocation-Effigies of the Forgotten
7. Slayer-Reign in Blood

12. Amon Amarth-Once Sent from the Golden Hall
13. Bathory-Blood, Fire, Death

Tomorrow, this could change and Impiety, Grief, and Destroyer 666 could be back on top.

Death to false metal.

Deinabolic: The Testament album is "The Ritual"

BTW: Nightrage Kicks ass, Elusive Emotion is one of my favorite songs.

Tool: any of them, but especially Lateralus and Aenima
Def Tones: the latest two

Maybe those aren't "true metal", but they're what I like.

Bathory: Thats a name I havent heard in a long long time............

Mudvayne: L.T.D. 50
Meshuggah: Nothing
Pre-Black album Metallica, any album
Pantera: The Great Southern Trendkill
System of a Down: Toxicity, Mesmerize
Rob Halford: Live Insurrection
Korn: Follow the Leader, Issues, Take a Look in the Mirror (or whatever it's called)
Limp Bizkit: Three Dollar Bill Y'All (except for "Faith," this album was badass and still sounds great. Haven't liked/detested everything else they did)

The Ritual...hell yeah, thanks for reminding me. I've gotta go get another copy of it.

One more - anything by Type O...

This list could go on and on. Anybody into Dream Theater and Iced Earth???

I bought an album by Dream Theater once. I forget the title, but it had something to do with seasons. Change of Seasons? Something like that. I didn't care for it much, but I know they're supposed to be very progressive. I just found it lacking in drive and intensity. I try to be open-minded, but it just didn't do it for me. Any suggestions on a good album of theirs to pick up?

Im a huge TOOL fan bro. Theyre working on the new one as Im sure you know and theyve been inspired by Meshuggah; so god only knows what could come of that!!!

I'll just list some of my favorite bands. Slayer, Cryptopsy, Burzum, Darkthrone, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Candlemass, Nightwish, Acid King, Mercyful Fate, Abyssic Hate, Blut Aus Nord, Hellkrusher, Autospy, Brodequin, Immolation, Drudkh etc.
