Synthesizing active ingredients in Tribex

I understand that Biotest had determined which chemicals within the tribulus and avena herbs are the active ingredients, and that Tribex is standardized for 10% of active ingredient in tribulus and 2% active ingredient in Avena respectively. Would it be possible to synthesize these active ingredients in order to boost the concentration in the formula? I understand it is probably cheaper to harvest the actual herb, but surely by now, once the active ingredients are agreed upon, someone would have thought of doing what I’m proposing. Then again, it might be impossible.

Synthesizing natural products is quite difficult. I resently attended a seminar on just such a topic, mainly for taxol, and there are typically several if not 50 steps.
