Switching to Sumo-stance DL

I’m going to be switching my stance on the deadlift from conventional to sumo to strengthen my inner legs and glutes more. I think by doing this i will fix the weakness that led to me getting multiple pulled groins from squatting. I’m currently doing the texas method and im only 15 and my numbers aren’t anything special but I can just switch to sumo stance correct? Also i don’t really plan on pulling sumo permanently so what would it do to my regular DL numbers? I assume if i progress on sumo in weight that is significant than i will also progress in my convention DL stance although it won’t be the exact same increase.

Thanks in advance,
Parsley
