Too bad people born with type 1 Diabetes can’t do shit about it.
Agreed. It’s also too bad that this will do nothing to correct the poor dietary/lifestyle choices that got them into that mess in the first place. With such a quick fix available, I wonder how many people will slip right back?
According to the article the diabetes disappeared over the course of 2 years following the surgery. So you get surgery, lose weight, blood sugar returns to normal, and no more diabetes.
I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that maybe going from being a fatass to not-a-fatass is what is responsible for this, not the surgery itself.
So instead of spending $17,000 - $20,000 on a surgery, do it the right way.
This kinda pisses me off.
