I’ve been taking hgh boosting sups recently and I’m 23 yrs old. I recently had blood work done and it seems my actions have paid off. My igf1 levels came back at 365 with maximum being 358. My question: is this dangerous and is it yielding the same effect that hgh injections would yield? I know very little about hgh averages by age. Any info would be appreciated…having trouble finding charts with averages and such. Thanks
Any legal supplement you are taking will not boost your hgh a fraction of what an actual hgh injection will do. Your igf1 level is barely above the max range. Remember, these are recommended ranges - a few points on either side of the range won’t really make that much of a difference. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about it, but if you’re really concerned, you should ask your doctor.
what were your levels before, and what are you taking?
I have never had them taken previously, but am going off the supplements and having them taken a month from now. So, yes, this could all be moot. I take:
5g L-Arginine, 1g L-Citrulline, 1.5g L-Ornithine, 5g L-Lysine, 5g L-Glutamine, 5mg Melatonin, and 200mg GABA before bed. No food within 2 hrs of bedtime and I try to stay way from simple, hi GI carbs throughout the day to avoid insulin spikes.
I do box and lift too. I feel like I have had changes in sleep and sex-drive(both better and increased). I was reading that high igf1 levels can be caused by tumors: my only concern if these sups aren’t that affective as you say.
I’m getting re-tested for everything again, but mainly for test which has been low: 383 5 months ago, 1 month after quitting marijuana(smoked regularly for a semester of school) . My level as of a week ago with NO marijauna use, but with 3 weeks of supplementation was 434 serum, 13.6 free. These supplements supposedly increase test as well, so if 434 is my “boosted” test level, that’s pretty low for an active 23 yr old. Doctor said I might have to do TRT if the retest reveals anything. Said that they are only going to get lower with age. I’m a little apprehensive, but do want them to return to what they were when I was 19: 687.
