Supplements and Acute Kidney Failure?

About 2 months ago I started working out 6 times a week and started taking supplements. I was taking Omnevol twice a day, no xplode/Xlevol(not at the same time, ran out of no xplode and started taking the xlevol) before my workout, cell mass after my workout, and was eating 3 full meals, 3 snacks, including Muscle milk.

About 1 1/2 months into my workout I started getting these really bad stomach pains. Went to urgent care, they said I had a Kidney stone and sent me on my way. The pain continued despite the Vicadin they gave me. 3 days later I go to the ER and they do blood tests and my creatnine levels are at 2.9% when they should be at 1.4%.

They call it Acute renal failure. They did a number of tests and all came back negative. They released me after 4 days and my kidneys were functioning at normal levels again. The best answer the kidney specialist could give me for the cause of all this is that he thinks one of the supplements I was taking caused an allergic reaction to my kidneys…

Can anyone help me and give me info if one of these supplements could have caused this???

Jesus. Pretty scary shit.

Some supps can cause problems with the kidneys. Research, read. Then research and read some more. Just because something is legal and natural doesn’t mean it’s good for EVERYONE.

I did a research paper on creatine and one of the sources I crossed, suggested that creatine, while not causing it, may exacerbate kidney problems in individuals who have a genetic predisposition to it. You mentioned that you took Cell Mass. That may not be it, but just a thought.

Id question a few more specialists the next time this happens when you are no longer taking any of the sups for them to pass the buck on.

Interesting.

You must have seriously had a genetic abnormality to begin with; there are millions of people that cross-consume tons of supplements just as you did that do not suffer consequences anywhere near as drastic as Renal Failure and Kidney Stones.

In any case, hope you’re feeling a lot better.

Wait… you took this Omnevol for six weeks?
Get ready for the strongest pro-anabolic on the planet! Omnevol is powered by a combination of 3 all-star anabolic compounds:

4-etiocholan -4-chloro-17a-methyl-3b,17b-diol
2α, 17α-dimethyl-17β-hydroxy-5α-etiocholan -3-one
17α-methyl-17β-hydroxy-5α-etiocholan -2-ene
That sounds like 3 methylated steroids: Halodrol, Phera-Plex and Superdrol if I’m not mistaken. Scary shit.

OP: From your post it seems like you have absolutely no clue what you were taking. Were you even aware that you were taking steroids at all (and very harsh ones, too - google “Superdrol side effects” for a bit of fun)? Are you aware that even experienced users usually stay away from the compounds you took, much less taking them all at once? For six fucking weeks? Do you know what a PCT is?

Why is it so quiet in here?

Edit: As a sidenote, here’s what the manufacturer says:

“Omnevol side effects are minimal but can include minor acne, increased libido, and feeling like you are the king of the world! Oh and anywhere between 10 to 25 lbs of solid mass, with unbelievably ridiculous strength gains!”

Wow, just wow.

Most of the supplements do not work at all and are just bull$hit.

Also many products are false categorised as such.

omnevol is not a supplement ffs . In the same category as suplements we can use deha and for some even steroids lol.

Suplements consider multivitamins , proteins , fish olois and such.

Creatine wont hurt your kidneys per se.

Creatine with existend kidney problems is toxic.

Creatine can also affect kidney function if you do not drink adequate amounts of water , and im talking about a LOT of water.

my advice stick with fish oils and multivitamins , if you do not eat adequate veggies or fruits.

protein shakes have nice taste , other than that there isnt a signle scientific reasearch that proves , that protein powders will buff you up if you eat adequate amounts of protein in your diet.

Good catch!

I was too lazy to google omnivol, since the ‘vol’ part lulled me into a false sense of what the product must be (some sort of ‘muscle volumiser’ shite).

OP, this may well have been the root of your problems.

The way some supplement companies prey on the uninformed is extremely irresponsible if not just plain evil. Who even came up with the idea of stacking three methyls into one product? I suspect most of the people who use it don’t even know they’re taking steroids.
