Supplemental/Assistance Exercises, Top Set or Straight Sets?

When you are doing your supplemental or assistance movements would you recommend working up to a top set or doing straight sets with the same way?

I know your article where you said the 8 12 rule where you pick a weight and work on getting it for 12 reps and when you do you increase it by 10 or 20 lb and start back over. When you did that did you work on working up to a top set or just usestraight sets?

In those early years it was the same across the board. 8-12-8. For everything. I just used straight sets. No drop sets or intensity techniques.

In bodybuilding there is no “assistant” work. You’re not training movements, you’re training muscles.
