Got a chance to see the World Sumo Challenge at the Garden last night. They’re trying to break into the American market with this great, ancient sport.
Now, even though the sumos were mostly from Eastern Bloc countries and, for some reason known only to god, they felt the need to liven up the proceedings with break-dancing…it was GREAT!
What could have been a freak-show goof was a respectufl and exciting night of good, old-fashioned fat guys whaling the tar out of each other. If they keep the tour going and it comes to your neck of the woods, I strongly encourage everyone to go out and support it.
