Summer Concerts!

In about two weeks, I’ll be seeing Tool on July 12th in Mansfield, Mass. Then on August 21st I?ll be seeing Dream Theater right before I head off to school!

I cannot wait for both of the concerts! Saw Tool in September and they were amazing. If youre seeing any shows this summer, share it with us here!

I saw Tool last month in San Antonio. I just checked the DT website and it turns out they are coming to Austin on August 4th. I’m definitely going to try and see that show.

I’m seeing Neurosis, supported by Final and Guapo this Saturday.

I can’t wait it is going to be fucking spectacular. I saw Steve von Till doing a solo show a couple of months back and he blew me away.

I already saw Slint a couple of weeks ago but seeing them again will probably be a little hard to resist especially seeing as Deerhoof are supporting. Both times I’ve seen them Slint have been nothing short of sonic perfection.

Tool are actually playing in London the night before that, money permitting I’ll take them on as well.

This summer is going to be awesome.

I saw Tool in Cedar Rapids last Tuesday. They kicked some serious ass, and the pit out of control! Those 14 y.o. skinny bastards can do some serious pushin’.

I saw Tool recently. They were terrible. The band was right on the whole time and they sounded perfect. Maynard, on the other hand, didn’t even sing 1/3 of the lyrics and there stage presence was terrible.

If that wasn’t bad enough, there were announcements before the show warning that “if you are caught moshing, you will be escorted out.” To top things off, you could talk in a normal voice and hear it over the band. This was a rock concert dammit, so f*cking rock. The whole show lasted for a little more than an hour. I paid good money to see them play.

It was one of the worse shows I have ever been to (if not the worst).

Now, the week before that, I saw Godsmack and they totally kicked ass.

My budget is a little tight this year so I’ll only be attending a single Dream Theater and Rush show this summer. Also hope to catch NIN too.

Boy…

This year hasn’t gotten me real excited…

Was going to see “The Police”…but I don’t know…

Mufasa

-Incubus
-311 w/ Matisyahu
-Reel Big Fish w/ Less Than Jake, Streetlight, and Against All Authority
-Rage. (Need I say more?)
-I might be going to Live Earth: Police, Kanye, et. al.

-dizzle

Wow…this is the very first time I’ve heard this said about a TOOL show .

anywho…seeing them on THE 4TH ; and Roger Waters 2 days prior .

still debating Rush

I’m seeing the White Stripes in July- can’t wait.

When I saw them in San Antonio it was deafeningly loud. I would have gladly given you a few of the decibels.

saw Tool a couple months ago–awesome. the laser show blew my mind. Then Rise Against a little more recently. seeing wolfmother in a couple weeks and checking on NIN dates. White Stripes is looking good too. other than that, Columbus has a really good local scene…spikedrivers, perkins, boombox, about every week they play somewhere.

I work for a vending company during the summers and get to see a bunch of shows for free. Off the top of my head Jimmy Buffet, all the bands at Virgin Mobile Fest(Police Smashing Pumpkins 311 Beastie Boys), Allman Brothers Band and probably a handful of others.

That was the first time I’ve heard anything bad said about a Tool show. They were great in all aspects when I saw them. I did hear Maynard sometimes doesn’t sing the high notes in songs sometimes so he won’t ruin his voice if he has a show the next day or something.

Hmm…Tool. I saw them back in 97’, the one and only time I actually won tickets from a radio station (I answered a trivia question of some kind) for Lollapalooza…ten years gone in the circle of a mosh pit.

Anyhow, Maynard came out in a sumo style man diaper and nothing else, with his hair shaved back to mid skull where it ended in a glorious man pony tail. All in all they gave a solid performance, but I was back so far in the boonies I didn’t get the full experience. Meh, free tix are free tix.

Nowadays I try to see bands in small venues whenever I can, or at least general admission where one can bulldoze their way to the front. I can’t stand giant seated arenas where you’re so far back in bum fuck egypt you may as well stay home.

As for summer concerts I mentioned I went to Coachella, thus far that’s been the highlight (that and Morrissey)…but I’m massively anticipating seeing KOL again at the Warfield in SF.

July 29, Slayer and Marilyn Manson

You really cannot beat europe for festivals Off to see Muse, Daft Punk and the Klaxons next week

Just saw Rush last week; awesome as always.

I’m hoping to see Velvet Revolver when they swing up this way in August. I saw them 2 years ago and they were blisteringly awesome.

I’d double check my dates if I were you. Your show is on the 30th.
