Sucrose as post workout carb?

As a cheap source of carbs, would sucrose be ok instead of maltodextrin in my post workout shake?

No, bad choice. Sucrose isn’t very quickly available to muscle; it has to split into glucose and fructose. Fructose isn’t good at supporting muscle, post-workout, because it is stored in the liver preferentially. By the time it converts to glucose, only half your calories are glucose now and it’s taken a long time to get it there anyway. Stick to whatyou know works: Dextrose/Maltodextrin or Surge.

I have tried this, with Nytro-Pro by AST, the old grow! to add more carbs and I read to increase an insulin release eat High GI carb after workouts. I also tried it in an attempt to make methoxy pro taste nice (I failed). I tried it for about a week but stopped because it nearly made me sick from being too sweet.
