I don't post often here, but read a lot and thought that this was definitely post-worthy since I'm running out of ideas.
A little background on me: I'm 20 years old, 6'0 198lbs sitting at around 10% BF. I've been lifting seriously for a year, but already was lifting casually for 2-3 years before that.
In the past year my lifts have made the following progress:
Deadlift 315 x 5 > 405 x 5
Squat 165 x 10 > 315 x 10
Military press: 95 x 5 > 170 x 1
Bench press: 225 x 2 > 225 x 2-3
I was also benching 225 x 1 at 18 years old when I was 6'0 170lbs and doing 90 x 5 on the flat DB press. So I've basicly gained 30lbs of lean mass and my bench is STILL the same. My diet is around 3200 calories a day on average with around 200g of protein.
I would think it's my training or my diet, but since my other lifts progress, it can't be. Also, my military press progressed a LOT yet my bench stayed the same, I really don't understand.
Most I've done on the bench was 250 x 1, these days I'm doing 225 x 2 x 3 etc... but as soon as I try to add more weight, everything goes to shit. It's really getting discouraging, was wondering if anyone had ideas on how to fix this.
edit: I've tried a PL stance, a flat back stance, no matter the technique its all the same.
