So I’m doing a strongman event in the Fall and I need training ideas. Can anyone suggest articles/books/websites/etc. to get started.
Thanks,
Nate from TX

Here’s a website that outlines how to get started:
ontariostrongman.ca/Resources/training
/basic_primer.html
find your state chair on nastrongmaninc.com and find a training day in your area
if youre close to where the comp is being held, call the promoter and ask about training days
Good ideas so far.
Also check out the articles by Murph on the Total Performance Sports website. There are a few on which lifts transfer best to events and whatnot.

Check out the thread “Stones and Tires” started by Brad Cardoza, I don’t know if you’ll find anyone more knowledgable about strongman training than him.

Here is one from Joe Defranco. It is more Strongman Training for Athletes but it might have a few things for you in it.
