I am looking to buy some strongman equiptment, and am having trouble finding ones that will fit my budget. Where do you guys get your equiptment? Williams strength makes good equiptment, but its a little pricy, any suggestions? And does anyone know what happened to brutestrength.com?

I had all of my gear made by a local welder/fabricator. I had them make a sled that looks just like the one sold on EFS for only $55. They also made farmer’s walk handles for me for $70. The best part…no shipping charges. Also, there are direction on ontariostrongman.ca for how to build a log and stone molds. Maybe I am just cheap, but I can see paying all that money for equiptment I can make or have someone make myself.

Go to a local scrapyard, find the pieces that work and have the folks there weld it up for you. For example, flywheels (weighing up to two hundred pounds each or more) can have handles mounted for 10 bucks each. The flywheels sell at scrap prices-less than a nickel a pound.
