In addition to squats and front squats, I'm just wondering which of the two exercises above would be more useful to an aspiring strongman? Thanks.
Both have there place and I would just maxmize both doing one one week and do the the other the next week. As far as importance I would put behind squats or deadlift just so start strong on the deads and squat like an assist to those.
Both are pretty good for quad assistance, they're just a variation.
I don't do either and neither do the guys I train with.
Make sure you do Farmer's Walk, Yoke, Stones and Log every week. What kind of assistance work you do for your quads or other body parts is completely up to you.
I would love to do stones and log and yoke every week, but there's nothing like that around here. Farmers walks are a staple for me already, but everything else I only have barbells so far. Hoping to change that soon by making some things myself though.
