Does anyone stretch their abs before or after ab workouts or just excercise in general. If so, is there any other way besides lying on your stomach and then pushing yourself up with your hands to extend the ab muscles?
The limiting factor in my torso flexibility in relation to extension (as you're describing) is the impingment of my spinous processs on one another, not my abdominal flexibility.
So no, I don't stretch them, nor do I see any need to. Unless of course they're limiting your motion in some way.
I do some yoga after my workouts hit abs quite nicely. I think coach D has an article ?Man O' Steel? I think that has picks of some of the stretches.
