Hello T-Nation! With the upcoming football season , I was wondering how to care/strenghten my shoulder. I play quarterback. I have been doing a lot of external rotation work.
Also, a certain coach of mine is telling me to cut out pullups/chinups from my program because it places too much stress on my rotator cuff, this is a very knowledgeable coach who has extensivley trained himself…
but i do somewhat doubt him because he says i can train the same muscles by doing pushups as i can chinups. are chinups a bad exercise for an athlete who depends on his shoulders a lot?
