Strength Gains Precede Hypertrophy?

Reviving this thread. Am I the sole believer in the term strength precedes gains?

Isn’t this a necessity in order to reach adequate mechanical tension (stimulus) for hypertrophy? How about classical double progression - if you fail to progress in strength you will not gain any further?

Dr Darden: What is your standpoint on this term these days? I know you have previously mentioned this in “The new HIT”.

I did watch him hit 315x10 with ease @198 when he was 20
