Stevia vs Splenda

What’s the opinion here when comparing Stevia to Splenda.

I’ve only tried Splenda so I can’t say much for the taste of Stevia. Any long term effects that I should know about.

Thanks,

The green tea I have is sweetened with Stevia. I think it tastes descent and from want I’ve read on the net Stevia is safe.

Stevia is very sweet and only requires a small amount. It also has a positive affect on your blood sugar levels, not sure if slenda does.

I use both. More splenda now because it is easier to get the correct level of sweetness. Stevia can have a very strong liquorice aftertaste if you use too much. You’ll have to experiment a little to figure it out…

What do you mean by a positive effect? Increased insulin response like regular sugar? I’d like to use it as a sugar substitute with as little insulin response.

Thanks.

I recalled reading that somewhere when I first came across it. Now of course I can’t find it. BUUT, I did read some not so nice things about it when I did a google search. Check out Stevia The bittersweet truth. Seems alright in small amounts but seeing how many places it’s popping up this could be a problem. Anyone else read this?

I read the opposite. Stevia is claimed to be much better but of course it talks nothing about the quantities. Well, Stevia does come from a plant. Any thoughts?
