When on steroids I have heard that you should do some jogging to keep your heart healthy. But due to the fact I am in powerlifting I am scared that doing all this jogging will effect my strength by causing slow twitch fiber hypertrophy. Is there any truth to this and if so should I limit my running to a certain amount? Thanks for any help.
i doubt you will be logging enough miles to have to worry.
endurance and strength training together leads to increases of IIa fibers.
endurance training only leads to decrease in type I (that’s right, the endurance fibers get smaller as they get more efficient)
strength training only leads to increases of both fiber types
