I just did step-ups today for the first time. The box was fairly high, but not too high. I could only use 95 lbs. on my back in order to balance myself on one foot. Does any one have any good recommendations for sets/reps for step ups. I was only doing 4-6 reps, so my TUT was usually under 20 seconds (hard to them slow). Any other hamstring movements go well with these?? I’m currently doing Step-ups, Semi-stiff dumbell deadlifts, prone leg curls, seated curls, and good mornings. Suggestions??
I would use dumbbells for the steps. I find that it is way easier to balance yourself holding dumbbells than balancing that bar on your back.
