Steigs - Training Log

How tall are you ??
I wouldn’t worry too much, the fact you are even feeling the way you are tells me you will get back on plan and in a better place quickly.

6’2" for the record.

Yeah, I am sure that I will. I have a tendency though to be quite anxious until I am back in a range I am more comfortable in.

It kinda makes sense, I mean you have the drive and consistency to achieve the results you have. Not feeling good when you see a blip in those results is normal. At least it is too me.

I checked back and you were around 93-94 kgs when you posted the photos from your photo shoot. Was that your weight during the shoot?

I went into the Christmas eating season with a goal weight of 245 lbs. I’d been 239ish leading up to it so I thought 245 was an acceptable holiday bloat. I came in under that so I’m winning right now.

I think my shoot day weight dropped to around 91/92kg, but I know if I sit at around 95kg I’ll be lean enough to feel happy with where I am.

Means I have 5kg to shift as soon as possible.

Mate, you’re absolutely smashing it - in a great place to kick on from.

Nah just give up entirely, or at least until after the T challenge, it’s clearly all over :joy::rofl:

You’re a freak. I bet you’re still under 10% a 100kg

Well that was hard work after a fortnight off…and possibly not the best idea two hours before tee time for a NYE round with the wife (and the first round of 2019 with her tomorrow). Oh well.

Happy New Year - here is to a great 2019! Let the transformation begin.

Haha - that means something coming from you! I’d say I’m sitting closer to 12%. I think I may just have to accept that I prefer being lean and growing (very) slowly to bulking and losing definition.

If the pursuit of lifting, etc. is a hobby, then do this. You are young and appear very dedicated…you can pack on plenty of mass over time. Additionally, I think you would find it sets you free in a sense and you’d get more enjoyment out of the process.

Also, this.

Just my .02 cents.

A fellow BDD sufferer

Thank you for those words. They mean a lot.

@yonkey I wanted to take the time to reply to your message properly - my previous response was tapped out whilst I was in the gym recording my training session.

It is a hobby, but like many I think it has become a part of my life to the extent that I can’t remember not training. I also worry that it is something of a crutch - if I took it out of my day-to-day life, I am reasonably sure that my mental health would be worse for it. The saving grace (?) is that I use the training to ensure that I stay reasonably healthy - both my father and my paternal grandfather have had/had serious heart issues - multiple heart attacks/heart bypass. In part, I think this drives my obsession with staying lean - too concerned that to not be will lead to heart issues in later life.

I am working hard to try and get to a point where I can relax and enjoy the process.

I realise that someone else’s validation is completely meaningless when you have BDD - but you are clearly smashing it!

F***, that was hard!

Also, I’m not one to complain about January gym-goers, but this evening reminded me why I get in at 6 and get out before most of them have even had their morning coffee. An hour and a half to do the above!

My wife and I have agreed that when we buy a place a home power rack is a must.

Decent session and now I get to enjoy the birthday treats lined up by my wife - she’s been a hero and baked me a peanut butter sponge - it smelled amazing when it was baking last night.

Figure I can handle on off plan meal this evening - it comes but once a year after all!

Pre work round of golf. Finished 7 over. This is here for no other reason than I beat my wife and that was possibly the best round I have ever played. Two shots, I would love to have a second chance at; otherwise, everything was coming off the club face the best I could have hoped for.

Evening - 5km run - in around 25 minutes - hard to say. Couldn’t be bothered to charge Garmin for a stretch of the legs.

Must be nice finishing a round of golf, where you haven’t exhausted every curse word in your vocabulary!
