Starting a Blast

Two weeks into starting a blast, a gym in my city started some strongman training class. I checked it out and it whipped me. I knew my cardio/conditioning and VO2 were lame. I’ve never really strength trained, especially during a blast. Is it worth changing my usually training to real strength training along with this class twice a week during a blast of 14 weeks? Like 5/6 weeks of 5/3/1 type of training, then switch to hypertrophy?
