I can begin lifting again in two weeks after eight weeks off. I don't know what to expect in terms of the load, frequency, and volume that I can handle. I'm starting some sprinting tomorrow or Friday so that'll tell me at least something about where I'm at physically. Hopefully, I won't implode. As for lifting, my initial goal is to be able to perform all of the lifts I used to without serious discomfort. If that means using the pink dumbbells, it's cool as long as I can achieve a full ROM. That's the "plan." I realize this is very vague, but do you have any suggestions or strategies to share with your sedentary brother?
