he got it repaired right before or right after filming nighthawks in 1979…

I think you’re forgetting Mr. Christian Bale. Whenever a man sacrifices his body and health for his craft, he gets my respect. The sheer level of dedication is takes going through extremes, starving yourself, training, eating, dieting down again, and bulking back up is far more inspiring.
