Squatting for Strength, Olympic Lifting

why all the hate of the overhead squat, thats basically siting up from the snatch position if I’m thinking of the right thing. I know Chinese lifters do a lot of overhead squats since thats how they jerk it. Also overhead squats-in snatch grip- are great for core I don’t know why you would ignore them, but most emphasis should be on back/front squats.
