Squat Problems

Top pic is an old low bar squat. Ignoring the ankle mobility problems that bar is clearly over the middle of the foot.

Bottom pic is a recent high bar squat. It might be the angle, but it looks like the bar is on the heel.

I’m considering converting to strictly low bar or hybrid squats because I’m at the point where I think it is basically impossible for me to squat high bar effectively. Am I just seeing things that aren’t there?

It looks like the angle. Look at how little of the collars you see in the first pics in comparison to the second pics. For the latter, the camera was further out in front.

I concur that the angle is messing with you.

High bar squatting takes more ankle mobility than low bar squatting. If you feel that is limiting and really want to high bar squat, try olympic shoes.
