It’s not a problem at lower weights but nearing my max, my feet are already planted in the split position before the weight is completely overhead and I have to press out the last 1.5-2 inches. What could be the problem here?
Get lower under the bar. Push yourself underneath it.

a video would help more. but without one… either bend your back foot knee more or… push more during the drive. or its too much weight! I wish that was my problem as well.
