Spinal Erector Still Sore Months Later

Ok so I was hitting some stiff leg deads about three months ago. I felt fine until the next day. Then just under the spinal erector I was very sore. For the past three months the muscle has not healed up. It’s like its remained sore as hell for every single day…

I went to the Dr and he sent me to a Physical Therapist, who only managed to bill me for exercises that made the condition much worse…

So It feels like the muscle is tearing every time I take a step on me right side and just recently my hip on the same side is aching. I went the dr route and they just brush it off as a training injury. Its getting progressivly worse…Any Ideas are welcom

Did you see a sports medicine specialist? A drs education on exercise and sport is wide and varied.

have you considered looking for a sports doc or osteo? you might also want to PM beefcake here who is studying in this area, and may be able to advise.

well gosh look at that. beefcake must have been typing right at the same time…

If your spinal erectors are still sore for that long, it suggests to me that either at the same time your training volume has increased or your mechanics have somehow changed. Have you been training all this time? Any change in volume or introduction of new exercises during this period?

Yea my next stop is going to be a Sports Med Dr. Its not actually the spinal erectors its beneath it. Im thinking the muscle that runs from your spine to the front of the hip because im getting allot of tightenss in that area as well

ok besides the MD check which is a great idea, have you ever worked with a coach on your whole routine - from warm up to movement form?

Plato if you do come back to this thread
way to go getting out of pain = glad that got you some relief. super
you may want to consider learning how to do some mobility work for those joints in that area to help keep them open, and also give you a way to do some self-relief if it gets worse again for any reason.

if you pm me i can recommend some self-learning approaches.
