South Park Conservatives

Are any of you besides me in this category?

You’re a retard if you think they push a conservative POV. They make fun of both agendas and usually take the most absurd stance…for the humor aspect.

I would say that South Park usually takes a libertarian/conservative stance.

You must not have seen Team America. Maybe I should have labeled the thread, Pro-American South Park watchers, my fault. Maybe not as much pro conservative as it is anti-liberal.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, they stated that the “South Park Republican” tag was a “dumb notion.”[/quote]

Wow, I really identify with a pop-culture POV. I must be a “South Park Conservative” too. I found my niche, America.

Easy with the name calling there liftic. Maybe I was just trying to see if there were any conservative South Park watchers on the board. If you are not one of them, why don’t you stay off this thread or start your own, you can call it South Park Commies.

Liftic, find another thread, this thread is for conservatives who enjoy South Park, I don’t know why that makes you so angry.

Liftic, you sure are passionate about this topic. Chill out, I was trying to see if any of my conservative type friends here on T-Nation watched the same CARTOON I do. Get it, a cartoon, not that big a deal.

What is it about this subject that bothers you so much? Does South Park get under your skin? Does it bother you that they enjoy pissing liberals off? You should buy a copy of Team America to watch along with your Micheal Moore collection.

Oh, I’m not angry. All my friends who still watch it are “Conservatives”. They, like me, also find it funny to laugh at how liberals are portrayed. Its too easy.

But then again I have a sense of humor about such things.

However, to call it a conservative POV is ridiculous because on most of their social issues they seem to take the “liberal”, don’t fuck with my rights, stance–and still make conservatives look like tools. SO go ahead and identify with it. I’ll stand back and laugh while you identify with the “liberal” media. Ironic.

Tell me where you think they stand on issues such as:

abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia…is letting someone make up their own mind NOT a liberal idea?

Maybe you should have started this thread in “Get a Life”?

Parker, who writes almost every episode, is a libertarian. He believes in mocking the system, because the system is damn fucking ridiculous.

South Park makes good points, and has a lot of fun, probably unintentional philosophy in it. But to call it conservative just because its one of the only comedy shows to mock liberals is ridiculous.

I see them as anti mass-hysteria and stupidity.

I do not necessarily call that “liberal” though.

Umm… Jumper… you know that Parker and Stone made Team America right? The same guys who make South Park… unless I’m horribly mistaken of course.

But I’m pretty sure… so…

Lol

As long as it does not concern his money, yes.

Yes I know that is why I said it. It is called sarcasm. Get it, Liftic probably has a Micheal Moore collection and Team America by Parker and Stone is sort of like the opposite from that. I was being sarcastic.

It is a label to describe a certain kind of conservative voter - no more, no less.

It is not a disparaging term - just one used to identify like-minded people.

Why does discussing it invoke your need to whine about it?

Good save. No actually, I only liked the theme song to the movie because it spells it all out in black and white. By a general rule I don’t use pop-culture to back my opinions…but thats me.

Nobody called it a conservative POV. I asked if other conservatives on here watched it.
