Socialism

What is the difference between Socialism and the Democratic platform?[/quote]

Go to your local library and rent Uncle Karl’s “The Communist Manifesto”. This book will provide you with countless examples of what socialism is.

The current Democratic party, in its more liberal “sectors”, champions certain aspects of socialism, ie. legalizing drugs, elimination of borders, centralized government, and redistribution of wealth. So, in a way, one could argue there isn’t much of a difference. “True” Democrats like a Joe Lieberman, are a minority.

To clarify a posters question regarding Republicans with Nationalism and Fascism, they don’t exist in today’s Republican party. Nationalism, contrary to popular liberal-brainwashed belief, is not a bad thing. The Republican party is null and void of nationalism and our border policy is proof of this.

The Republican party of today is the Democrat party of 20 years ago. So, I’m not sure what was meant by the comparison to fascism. More specifically, Fascists and Republicans are two different ideologies.

Also, the USSR’s Socialist Republics and the Naitonal Socialist German Workers Party were/are totally different. Don’t confuse the “socialist” in the two entities. I could go a step further and say National Socialism and the NSDAP are two different entities, but that is a different argument.
