Soccer Boots for Sprinting on Grass?

I’ve never done any real sprinting before and need to get a pair of studded boots (I think they’re called cleats in the U.S.) to train on a nearby field.

Are football (soccer) boots okay for a beginner sprinting on grass? Should stick to a track and field area / Tarmac and get actual sprinting shoes with spikes?

I’m in the UK, so any recommendations would be great.

Football boots are great for sprinting on the grass. Go for it.

I prefer the smell of grass on a cold dewy morning, and it is probably kinder on the joints when compared to hard tarmac.

I would just check out your local sports store. Nike Tiempo’s are pretty nice.
