if i;m training just to increase speed should i even bother training the snatch? It’s such a technical lift and i feel it’s easier to do the clean in an explosive manner.
The power snatch creates the most power output (that’s work over time, or force X distance over time) of any lift recorded. It’s a lot less technical than the full squat version, and you’ll get the full benefit.
If you do the hanging variation it’s less technical as well.
If you are training for explosiveness you could use the power snatch. CT wrote an artical about it a while back, its called “The other kind of snatch”
