I do not. I just hold on throughout the lift until I drop it.
A few lifters I know release the hook grip.
i keep the hook until i drop it also. my coach releases before standing up
somehow my hook grip comes loose by itself when I get in the bottom of the overhead squat... somehow...
Me too. When I'm pulling, hook grip. When I'm standing up with it, no hook grip. Happens sometime during that transition while I'm "flying" under the bar. Don't think it's something anybody needs to stress out over.
I'm one of those people that has to release it or I get problems.
