Smaller Splits vs Larger?


so i have belived for a long time now, that larger splits or full body routines, are more effective at building strength and size, than the classical 1-2 muscle group split 5 days a week.

But now this article , http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/why_bodybuilders_are_more_jacked_than_powerlifters

says( on page 2 under " training split " ) that recent research shows how those smaller splits results in greater hypotrophy than bigger splits.

Whats your opinion on this?

well,I recently swifted from a 3xsplits to a 2x,loads went down but now I have 3 days without lifting to do cardio and going to sea so.........also I noticed a deeper fatigue after each session.
yesterday I was not able to complete my schedule (delts,back,legs) because too much tired and too few carbos before training (heavy day at work)...
as september comes I switch to my 3xsplits as 1/loads used are higher 2/post work-outs fatigue is much less 3/rest is better
