Small Tips That Can Help Now

I was just wondering if anybody had some small tips on lifting that could help right away. I’m not talking about things we know, like squeezing the bar or using good form, but hidden things that only veterans seem to know.

I picked this up from Paul Kelso of the Kelso shrug system.

If you’re having trouble with your grip on a heavy pull or olympic movement ( and you’re not using a mixed grip) trying cutting lines into your nails. This works especially well for a hook grip.
Basically just cut some lines into your nails going horizontally on your thumb using a nail or knurling. This could also be done with less effect on your other fingers if you use a normal grip.

It might only be able to help you with an extra 5 pounds, but that might be the extra help you need.

Anyone have anything?
