Slow Double Progression

Say I am doing 3x6-8 reps double progression.

Would it be better to…

  1. Try to get all 8 reps every workout and increase weight once you can reach 8 reps on every set

Or

  1. Use more of a planned progression
    week 1 8,7,6
    week 2 8,7,7
    week 3 8,8,7
    week 4 8,8,8 …increase weight for next workout

Option 1, unless you are a neurotype 3 in which case option 2 will work best
