Slow Cooker Question

Do I need to brown ground beef before putting it in a slow cooker, or can I just throw it in straight from the grocery store? I’ve heard both. Also, any recommendations on how long to cook it? It seems like it might fall apart if cooked too long. I’m thinking of throwing a whole bunch of it in with some canned tomatoes and broccoli. Thanks all.

Well if you brown the beef you can drain the fat before you put it in.

Or if you want yes jus put it in the fat will float to the top you can remove the majority of it. Cool it after cooking and it will solidify on the top and be very easily removed.

Yeah I’m usually looking for as short a preparation time as possible due to my extreme laziness, so if it’s safe, I’ll probably just throw the meat right in and see what happens. Thanks for the replies.
