So my ribs are slightly flared. Now its not too big of a deal or anything major and I’ve maintained for quite some time now that whenever I start to seriously train my core I’ll be able to ‘naturally’ fix it because my core muscles will stabilise the shape of the rib cage. Upon further analysis, and even though I haven’t started training my core ‘seriously,’ I’m beginning to think it’s unlikely.
So I really have two sets of questions: 1) was my previous assessment correct, can I ‘cure’ flared ribs just by training my core hard or is it the case where I’ll have to wear some kind of corset/structure for a while or something? and 2) Who should I see to get a professional assessment? Are the specialists that deal with these kind of things just physiotherapist or are there others.
