Where did you see the section that showed the gradual sets? I have read it a few times now and do not see an answer for that. Like are the gradual sets more like clusters where you add weight and drop reps etc…?
The sets can be straight sets or ramping. For example, on your 5x8 day:
300 x 8 x 5 sets
Or
240 x 8
260 x 8
280 x 8
300 x 8
320 x 8
I think straight sets are better.
You can base it off your current 1RM or e1RM. I suggest you start with 70% of that. You can also run a trial week and feel out your weights. The first phase sets the weights. If you start too heavy then you’ll miss reps.
How often are you deloading on this program?
You aren’t deloading at all. You run it for 12 weeks and then can deload when finished if required.
