Strongman Saturday session today was Grace WOD with my 63kg 139lbs log. Took it steady and finished In just under 13 mins. Haven’t lifted the log for ages so the reps were a little hit and miss in terms of technique.

Well that short workout this morning has left me sore all over.
Todays session with the log was only 13 mins which means I would have had time to do tabata front squats after. I did not do that though, as I am only half crazy. But the point is, you are right. You really can of beat yourself up in 20 mins.

I had to look up what Grace was again…60kg clean and press X 30 for time. Ouch. Might have to have a go at that too. Hahha
13 was slow really, I had to stop to breath a lot. Few reps with the log I was getting dizzy and starting to see starts.
Makes you realise how fit the elite crossfitters are… They do it unbroken…
Monday 29 June - week 1

Solid deep reps . Some pain in my right quad.
Bulgarians - back foot over roller pad on the rack
60 x 8 x 3 sets (30kg Dumbell each hand)
I do these as one continuous set no of 8 on each leg. So 16 reps before putting the dumbells down. Felt like my lungs were going to explode after each set. Fkn horrible.
I think people using 30kg dumbells for split squats and then walking around sucking air after like they are going to pass out, must be rare. Based on the stares I was getting from half of the gym. Between the sets I was checking my pulse on my neck and one of the guys at the gym walks over and says ‘are you checking if you are still alive mate?’
“No” I say “I am checking if my heart rate has come down enough so I can do another set”
He just looks at me funny and says ‘you are sick’.
He was not wrong, well at least I felt sick. LOL

This was a tough tough session. If progress comes from adaption and that comes when we push ourselves beyond ourselves on the day, then tonight I made progress.
Looked in the mirror when I got out of the shower tonight and couldn’t help thinking ‘Fk I am a unit right now’. Quality

Strong lifting.
Small amount of doms from yesterdays squats and Bulgarians. In a much better place than the first week of the new block. Getting a fair bit of pain in my right quad, hip flexor and hip. Really need to do something about that. My toe is still pretty painful but nothing I can do about it. Feels like I am going to need to find some conditioning work I can do that doesn’t impact the toe.

No lie, I can now get a good pump just from lifting my coffee cup to my face. Thank God I never wasted any time on something silly like quads

Glutes are very sore today, Squats and Bulgarians on Monday, followed by swings and front squats last night have definitely beaten me up. Deadlifting that axle tonight is going to be so much fun…NOT.
