Shuttle Runs

I’m gonna be enlisting soon, and one of the stations we have for a physical test is the 4x10m shuttle run. Basically, accelerate and decelerate fast enough to pick up an object/touch the floor 10m away, and back, repeat, and back again.

To be honest I’ve not been training much for this station because it’s not been an issue, but it’s not fantastic either, but I’m thinking I will start tomorrow morning. What are some other good exercises/drills to improve acceleration and deceleration besides training the actual shuttle run itself?

I don’t know if you’d have to worry too much about training for that test so specifically, but just adding sprints to your usual run will help, but if you want just turn around right as you start your sprint I guess.
