Is 50 mgs per week enought to shut down natural production. I have heard from some that 50-100 simply adds to what you have, but over that replaces your test and your body will shut down natural production. If it does shut it down completely, how long does it take to return to baseline levels after you stop? Thanks.
You are looking in the wrong place.

No straight answer here. And some people NEVER come back.
What does your question have to do with proper, effective TRT?
Why do people love mentally masturbating?
Well what's up is I have pretty good baseline levels (680) but I told doc I wanted optimal levels in the 900-1000 range. Given that I have decent baseline levels I simply do not want to permantly screw up up my natural production, so I am wondering if I should stop at certain points to allow system to rejuvenate. I am trying to find all the pros and cons. I like the idea of running test levels of 900-1000, but don't know if I should do it all the time.
And who said what opimal levels are? What doctor (not some strength coach or guru)?
And just because you test one day at 600, doesn't mean you won't test at 800 another day. I've tested between 600 to 1000 in eight years with all blood tests done while using 10 grams of Androgel.
How is your quality of life going to greatly change by going from almost 700 to 900?
Your idea is silly, and not medical practice. Any competent doc wouldn't even deal with this sort of shit because you're NOT hypogonadal and tell you to walk out their office.
What was your doctor's response? I see one of the best in NY and he'd laugh at this line of thinking.
Adding 50 mg/week will not add to what you have, at least not for long. Your body has a feedback loop called the HPTA that reguates the amount of testosterone in your system, and if it detects more, it will simply reduce your natural production to compensate.
You really won't notice a difference between 680 and 900 anyway.
Do some lab work. If E2 is elevated, lowering that would likely increase T. SHBG will reduce and FT fraction and absolute will increase. The improved E:FT will shift significantly.
Lowering body fat will probably reduce E2 as well.
Thanks for the insight guys.
