Shrooms?

OK you lame asses, I did post this in the training/nutrition section after all. I’m not interested at all about halucinating.

I was wondering how the friendly fungi fit into our diets? I mean what exactly is a mushroom. Is it carbs mostly? I would think it would be. Is there any information about it’s GI or insulin response? (generally talking potabella here)

it’s a fungus, mostly carb, and a good portion of protein.

BUT

in 100g of mushrooms, you get 26 calories, 3.5g of carbs, and 2.5g of protein. that’s in 100 grams! so even if they had a high GI, the GL or whatever it is would be really freaking low.
